Warning on flood water
WIDE Bay Water Corporation has reminded residents to be mindful of the hazards associated with floodwater following the heavy downpours of recent days.

Takeaway food may no longer be brought into WetSide Water Education Park in a bid to
support the park’s onsite canteen SnackSide.

Results give lake the all-clear
Test results have given water at Lake Lenthall the all-clear following unexplained fish deaths.
Wide Bay Water Corporation has carried out investigations and suspended fishing at the lake following the discovery of dead barramundi and eel-tailed catfish during the last three weeks. MORE

Water and sewerage billing set to change
BIG CHANGES to billing are on their way with access charges no longer appearing on the annual Fraser Coast Regional Council rates notice traditionally sent out each July.
Instead, Fraser Coast Regional Council/Wide Bay Water Corporation will be billing those access charges on water and sewerage bills which are sent out three times a year in October, February and June. MORE

Fluoride for Maryborough
Additional fluoride will be added to the Maryborough water supply as of Friday, June 3.
Wide Bay Water Corporation will add Fluorosilicic acid to the naturally occuring fluoride in water from Tinana Creek to achieve the prescribed concentration of 0.8 milligrams per litre. MORE

Fluoride imminent for Fraser Coast
The arrival of overdue dosing equipment at the Fraser Coast’s water treatment plants means the region will soon be drinking fluoridated water.
Wide Bay Water Corporation’s current schedule will see fluoride added between May 25 and June 16. MORE

Further fluoride delays
Fluoride will not be added to the Fraser Coast’s water supply until April following ongoing delays
with the delivery of critical equipment.
“To say that we are becoming extremely frustrated is not understating the matter,” said Wide Bay Water CEO Peter Scott.
“We had already extended our deadline with the State Government but without delivery of this
equipment we simply can’t roll out the program. MORE

Delay to fluoride rollout

The addition of fluoride to the Fraser Coast water supply has been postponed until the end of February due to a combination of delays.
Wide Bay Water CEO Peter Scott said: “The primary reason for the delay is that we are still waiting on some critical dosing equipment that unfortunately hasn’t arrived as agreed to by the supplier. MORE

Fraser Coast mayor Mick Krueger has welcomed the news of a multi-million dollar boost for Maryborough’s water system courtesy of the Federal Government.
Mr Krueger said Wide Bay Water had been successful in securing a $5.7million grant from the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) under the Federal Government’s Towns and Cities Program.  MORE

Uniform water restrictions apply to the Fraser Coast as of December 1.
 
Residents and businesses in Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Tiaro should be aware that Level 1 restrictions currently apply. MORE
The Fraser Coast’s water supply will be fluoridated, in line with State Government legislation, on December 31, 2010.
The Water Fluoridation Act 2008 was passed as legislation by the Queensland Government on March 13, 2008.
The object of the Water Fluoridation Act 2008 is to promote good oral health in Queensland by the safe fluoridation of public water supplies. MORE
