Tim Waldron - Chief Executive Officer Wide Bay Water
Tim has over 30 years experience in the water and wastewater industry. Born and educated in England, Tim worked for North West Water U.K. for over 20 years including 10 years as the Water Supply Manager of the City of Preston servicing a population of approximately 1.2 million people.
Later, as Divisional Engineer for North West Water, he was responsible for specialist engineering, water demand management and water by-laws.
His specialist knowledge in water demand management led to his secondment as a Technical Advisor for Developing Countries, as the United Nations Technical Representative for the South Pacific for U.N.D.P. and the World Health Organisation. |

Peter Care
Peter has over 20 years experience in the Australasian water industry. Born and educated in New Zealand, Peter has been involved in the development of innovative water and wastewater infrastructure projects that have been in the forefront of technology within New Zealand and Australia. With the Thames Coromandel District Council in NZ, Peter managed the development of the countries first 100% wastewater re-use project that became the catalyst of similar projects in NZ and Australia. During this period, he was instrumental in forming the New Zealand Land Treatment Collective and still remains a founding member. This group was established to promote the land treatment and disposal of domestic and industrial wastewaters without detriment to the local environment.
In Australia, Peter has previously been employed by consultants Gutteridge Haskins and Davey and the private construction company Abigroup. With the latter, Peter was involved with the design, construction and operation of several water and wastewater treatment plants throughout the East Coast of Australia. These plants utilised state of the art technology to produce high quality water and sewage effluent in an economical and efficient manner. This company became the first Australian owned company to be awarded a Build, Own and Operate project for the development of four water treatment plants in Victoria. Peter was involved with Wide Bay Water when it was a division of Hervey Bay City Council when for 6 months he filled the role of Manager Water and Wastewater while Tim Waldron was overseas with Ausaid. He now holds the position of Executive Manager Engineering in the planning and development of Wide Bay Water's water and wastewater infrastructure.

Ms Joanne Collins, Corporate Support, Executive Manager
Joanne is a leading technical expert in commercial management. She has more than 20 years experience in a range of industries including government, commerce, consulting and accounting. As a specialist in high level business reform, Joanne has been influential in driving Wide Bay Water Corporation to become a world leader and preferred partner in total water management.
Joanne first joined Fraser Coast Regional Council in 1994 as Finance Manager and was responsible for the reform of accounting and financial management practices, winning a commendation from the Auditor-General. Joanne was a key driver in the development of Wide Bay Water Corporation and this subsequently led to her appointment as Commercial Manager of Wide Bay Water Corporation in 2001.
She is also a lecturer in accounting at the University of Southern Queensland and has provided advice to the World Bank on corporatisation and asset management.
In 2002, Joanne was recognised for her achievements through being awarded Queensland Public Sector Certified Practicing Accountant of the Year for the corporatisation of Wide Bay Water Corporation. Joanne was also a nominee for Telstra Business Woman of the Year in 2003.

David Wiskar
David Wiskar is Executive Manager Business Development with Wide Bay Water Corporation, Queensland’s only Local Government owned corporatised water business. During the past 10 years, David has worked in a range of roles with State and Local Government on issues including; sustainable development, water pricing and environmental economic reforms. As the driving force behind the WaterWise program
David assisted local Governments and water authorities to develop and implement effective water demand management programs that not only minimise resource use but also contribute to infra-structure cost savings.
David is author or co-author of a number of books and publications including; Best Practice water efficiency in hospitality industry, WaterWise Plumbing; Powering to the Future – Smart energy in Local Government.
David Wiskar has a degree in business communications from the Queensland University of Technology. Prior to beginning work in the water industry, David was a Director of one of Queensland's leading corporate training firms. His role involved the administration, promotion and organisation of a wide variety of conferences for some of Australia's leading corporations including Woolworths, Price Waterhouse, National Mutual, Australia Post and Telecom.
