Wide Bay Water Corporation's Closed Circuit TV uses state of the art equipment to locate sewer pipeline faults such as mis-aligned pipes, cracks, tree roots. Early detection can prevent overflows and save money. The Unit is also used to investigate the integrity of stormwater pipelines.
Wide Bay Water Corporation's CCTV Unit is expanding its area of operation and now offers its services to other water and wastewater authorities, consultants, developers and plumbers.

Benefits of CCTV
CCTV inspection of sanitary sewers and stormwater pipes is the best technology for measuring the condition of underground assets. This vehicle is set up specifically for the CCTV inspection of any type of conduits. For staff comfort, it has split system air-conditioning ducted into the office area at the rear of the vehicle. This vehicle also has a separate WET and DRY area to eliminate contamination of the office area and to allow thorough cleaning of the equipment without the risk of damage to computer equipment. |

IPEK FW125 six wheel drive tractor and 48/70 camera unit (purchased July 2004).
The camera head of this unit allows for a full 360 0 pan and 300 0 tilt enabling direct inspection of any faults or failures. The tractor unit is fitted with a raising kit allowing centre of pipe inspections of most pipe sizes, it is fitted to 200 metres of cable allowing a survey of up to 400 metres in total length. |

| Wincan Software is used by WBWC to record and store all data made available during inspections. Wincan is made available on every CD or DVD report delivered by WBWC (in read-only format). This will allow Weipa Shire to view and print all required data from digital format. Wincan provides an excellent medium to store and retrieve text, photo images and video clip footage in an easy to use package. |
